Interview Mamma blogger

1. Why did you start blogging?
I've always had this thing with clothes. I've been buying Vogue since I was 12, dreaming that I would one day become a big time fashion journalist. Lack of confidence & self doubt drove me away from this choice at university. Whilst I was at university I spent more time working on my tumblr (outfit inspo) page, than doing any actual university work.. I'd spend hours looking through sites on the internet, putting cute outfits together. After I'd finished university I was offered an internship in London, to be an assistant to a big time stylist.. I was madly in love though, and couldn't bare the thought of leaving Alex up in Preston whilst I was down in London. A few months later I found out I was 3 months pregnant with Norah. For her first year, I concentrated 100% on just being a mom.. I forgot I still had passions & interests away from Norah. So that's when the idea for the blog came about. It's the perfect way for me to work on something I love and feel excited about.

2. What inspired your blog name?
Well.. Norah is going through a stage at the minute where she just likes to follow me around the house saying "ma ma ma ma ma ma" .. it's very cute .. so I guess I named the blog in honour of her.

3. What camera equipment do you use?
Canon EOS compact system camera, here's the link.. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2583178.htm

4. Which blogs do you read regularly?
I have a huge girl crush on Pandora Sykes. I wish we were besties so I could share her wardrobe! She is definitely at the top of my blogger reading list.. http://www.pandorasykes.com/
Other than that, I follow a whole feed of blogs on Bloglovin, so read quite a few regularly, all fashion related.

5. What are your blogging goals for 2015?
I would love to spend more time blogging. At the minute I only work on it once Norah has gone to bed. So I'm limited to a few hours a day. I also don't have my photographer (Alex) available for shoots on a daily basis, so only really have a few posts to work on each week. I hope one day to work my way up to 1-2 posts daily.

6. What are your personal goals for 2015?
I'm going to let you in on a little secret here.. I am currently 8 weeks pregnant with baby No.2! So my goal is to get through the pregnancy with as much ease and glow as possible! That is proving to be rather difficult at the moment though, this first trimester is really taking it out of me!

7. Describe your perfect day
This is quite tough, because I think I could have lots of different perfect days.. But I do like to shop, so my perfect shopping day would be breakfast out somewhere; a nice latte & a croissant, with my sisters; and then maybe a mooch around a few charity shops. Then another coffee stop, before hitting the high street shops. After a day of shopping I come home to ogle my new purchases, and then spend an evening in with my two loves, snuggled on the sofa drinking cuppas and eating biscuits.

8. What is your favourite book?
For years I thought there could never be a book I loved more than Wuthering Heights, then I read The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller. I sobbed my heart out for the final 3 chapters. I've now read it 6 times & sob my heart out every single time.

9. Which country would you most like to visit?
I'm desperate to go to Italy. My parents are driving through Europe and around Italy this summer, I'm so jealous!

10. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I have no idea?! I've still not decided! Me & my sister have a vintage clothing website soon to be launched, so it would be nice for that to do quite well.

11. What are your plans for this weekend?
I'm going to have a little mooch around a few charity shops in the morning, and then a night in with Alex tomorrow night. Then a blog photoshoot on Sunday, followed by Imagination Street with Norah! :)

12. Who is your favourite fashion designer?
My favourite designer brand has always been Chloe. If I was a famous actress on the red carpet, Erdem would be my choice of dress almost everytime.

13. What would you describe your blogging "niche" as?
Personal style. I only really concentrate on outfit posts at the moment. I woud however, in the future, like to expand the blog & write reviews on things such as beauty and health products, maybe even some childrens products that I've used on Norah?

14. Autumn/Winter collections or Spring/Summer?
Always, always, alwayyyys Autumn/Winter.

15. What is your favouite item in your wardrobe?
A vintage 70's tapestry & cord jacket I got off eBay..

16. What is your dream job?
I think I'll always regret not choosing to do fashion journalism as a course at university. I love reading magazines & I would love to work on one.

17. Do you see fashion as an art form or a commercial product?
Sometimes, I buy things knowing full well I am never going to wear them, but simply to add to my collection, or to hang on show in my bedroom. So most definitely an art form.

18. Where do you find inspiration from the most?
This is a tough one. I love to read magazines, so obviously see things that I want to buy from those, but I don't really know what I'm looking for most of the time when I'm shopping. I buy alot of things from vintage and charity shops, so I just buy what I like when I see it.

19. What is your favourite city you've visited?
NEW YORRRRK. I'm obsessed.

20. If you could go to one place in the world, where would it be?
Norah's face at Disney World right now would melt my heart away.

21. What is your favourite blog post you've ever written?
My blog posts are never majorly in depth written pieces, but my favourite look so far I think has been the last post, with my fluffy pink coat.

22. What is your favourite form of social media?
Most definitely Instagram. I don't use Facebook, I occasionally tweet, & I'm slowly getting into Google+, but Instagram is like my morning, lunch time & evening paper!

Okay, so at this point I am supposed to nominate 11 bloggers with less than 200 Twitter followers.. unfortunately I don't know that many, & alot of people have already taken part, but there is one lovely lady who has not yet been nominated, a fellow "mama blogger" ...
