Cut-off jeans and tights have been on my list of fashion trends to try. I tend to see it on younger folks with combat boots and a heavy 90s grunge vibe. As I am going for a SAHM casual look and I don't own chunky boots, I improvised.
I was sent a few pairs of Hanes tights to try out and the first pair that caught my eye were the shimmer tights. If you don't already know, Chicago summer has been pretty chilly. These tights keep my legs warm but they're not super thick. I love the gold flecks and when the sun finally does come out, they sparkle. I am a fan ofsparkle.
Having a layer of tights are also a security blanket for me. I don't feel quite so exposed. They make my legs look nicer too. It hides the stubble. Shhhhhh..don't tell nobody.
I started out by making my own cut-off jeans using a pair of Joes I had been meaning to change from bootcut to skinny. I am pretty shocked it took me this long to make a pair. Cut-offs are a much easier diy! It takes 5 seconds to cut across the pant legs. Done! "New" old jeans in under a minute. I can even knock out a pair before morning coffee.
As for the footwear, I went with flats. Fun flats. It's a bit nippy out but there's no way I'm pulling out boots of any kind! The leopard print ones are one of the few Target pieces I've thrifted. They have served me well. I can slip them on with everything and they're comfortable to walk around in. They make busy mornings easy and stylish.
